Reports to:        The Library Director

Airdrie Public Library is a member of the Marigold Library System and is one of the fastest growing libraries in one of the fastest growing cities in Alberta. A new 53,000 sq. foot library facility is scheduled to open in 2025. The library has an immediate opening for a Programming and Customer Engagement Manager to oversee programs and events at the library.

Position Summary:

  • Serves as a member of APL’s Management Team
  • Manages a department of 6-9 employees
  • Ensures the Library’s Plan of Service is implemented in assigned areas
  • Plans and oversees programs and events for all ages
  • Contributes to the development of innovative and dynamic library service to the community

Required Training, Experience, Skills

  • MLS
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and able to handle a demanding workload

Assets:

  • Public library programming experience, or equivalent
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans
  • Experience working within assigned budgets

Employment Terms:

  • Full time (37.5 hrs/wk)
  • Some evening and weekend shifts required
  • Salary range: $76,869 – $99,547, plus benefits
