Do you enjoy working with kids and are enthusiastic about literacy & learning? Then you may be who we are looking to hire to lead this year’s Summer Learning & Reading Challenge!
Our coordinators will need excellent communication and organizational skills and a passion to deliver programs that encourage pre-school and school-aged kids to celebrate the wonders of learning and most importantly have fun.
This temporary full-time position runs from May 4th through August 14th, 2026, for 15 weeks, 35 hours per week, and reports to our Youth Services Coordinator. Most of your work will take place during the day, Monday through Friday; however, one evening shift will be required from July to August, each week.
Experience working with children is an asset as is having knowledge of children’s literature & STEM, strong research skills and being a team player. Our successful candidates must be willing to provide a vulnerable sector & criminal record check as part of the hiring process.
Salary: $20.00 per hour paid on a biweekly basis
Duties:
- Plan, organize and present in-person programs for 3-12 years of age
- Promotion of the programs and visits to local schools and daycares
- Supervision and scheduling of our teen volunteers
- End of summer evaluation of all programs and activities
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
