    If you’re in Calgary this upcoming weekend, don’t miss the Alberta Premiere of The Librarians—Oscar-nominated filmmaker Kim A. Snyder’s documentary about librarians fighting unprecedented book bans, targeting stories about race and LGBTQIA+ issues!

    As censorship efforts sweep across America, these unlikely heroes emerge as democracy’s first responders. Variety calls it, “a gripping story of what is at stake when curiosity and thinking are endangered.”

    Screening as part of CUFF.Docs, the Calgary Underground Film Festival’s annual documentary film event, running November 19-23, 2025, at the Globe Cinema in Calgary.

  • Books N Brews

    It’s time again for Foothills Library Association’s winter Books N Brews!

    We are excited to be partnering again with Dickens, Owl’s Nest Books, and TaleSpin Trivia to bring this event to you.

    Entry to the event is free of charge, but if you want to play trivia there is a $5 fee.

    Books N Brews will be taking place on November 26th at Dicken’s. Doors open at 6, and trivia starts at 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Books N Brews

    Foothills Library Association would like to invite you to our winter Books N Brews!

    We are excited to once again partner with Dickens, Owl’s Nest Books, and TaleSpin Trivia to once again bring this event to you. We are also adding an extra element this go round, we are using this opportunity to help out the Calgary Drop-In Centre. We are taking donations to the Drop-In, either in person at the event or encouraging anyone interested in helping out the Drop-In to visit their site directly and make a donation. Alternatively or additionally, if you would like you are more than welcome to donate clean, laundered, cold weather clothing and you can donate that at the event itself. 

    Books N Brews will be taking place on December 5th, doors open at 6, trivia starts at 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
